Using photography, imagery and visualisation is important at a number of stages throughout the planning (and design) process to give life to proposals, express ideas and add credibility.

Whilst images capture the imagination, and help ‘sell’ ideas and proposals, visuals will also illustrate the built form’s relationship with its setting and importantly its scale. Imagery can be manipulated to reflect the temporal nature of landscape and how these relationships will change accordingly.

Visual Representation of development proposals should, however, be proportionate and the type of visualisation used will depend on factors such as scale, purpose / intended audience and sensitivity.
